Desde
los partidos de pretemporada, el cuerpo técnico encabezado por José Fernando
Santa, dio a conocer la falta de un central de experiencia urgente. El 29 de
enero en horas de la mañana, el Club Deportivo Atlético Huila dio a conocer por
medio de un comunicado de prensa a Efraín Cortés Gruesso de 31 años, como nuevo
jugador de la institución.
Nació
el 10 de julio de 1984 en Florida, Valle del Cauca. Sus funciones dentro del
terreno de juego son el juego fuerte en marca, la velocidad y habilidad con la
esférica; mide 1,83 metros y pesa 82 kilogramos. Llega al Atlético Huila como
agente libre, siendo el Fútbol Club Juárez su último equipo.

la mano del director técnico Jaime de la Pava, vencieron 2-0 a Itagüí Ditaires.
También ganó la Copa de México con el Puebla el año anterior; y en un torneo
amistoso realizado en el 2013, con Nacional de Uruguay celebró en la Copa
Samsung Galaxy Note.
